Services

The Services we provide :-

- Continuity of care

Seeing the same practitioners for your pregnancy ( and in life ) is not only a welcome and  reassuring practice, but has been found by  multiple researchers to improve health outcomes.

We offer this service for your pregnancy, and where possible, for after baby is born.

- Antenatal screening & diagnostic services

Our GPO's and midwives can provide all your referrals for all the blood tests, screening and ultrasounds required during your pregnancy.

- CTG monitoring in late pregnancy

CTG monitoring in late pregnancy is a safe and non-invasive way to monitor the well-being of both mother and baby during pregnancy and labour. CTG, or cardiotocography, is a technique that uses sensors to monitor the baby’s heart rate and the mother’s contractions, which can tell an experienced practitioner about the health of your baby.

- Onsite ultrasound machines

We have onsite  ultrasound machines, as a compliment to formal ultrasound undertaken at Radiology Practices.  Bedside ultrasound in early pregnancy at Baldivis Maternity Clinic is a safe and painless way to confirm your pregnancy and monitor the health and development of your baby.  We do not undertake formal ultrasounds.

- Vaccinations ( flu, whooping cough, RSV, & childhood )

Routine pregnancy and childhood immunisations at Baldivis Maternity Clinic help protect both mother and baby from potentially serious diseases. Immunisations are an important part of preventative healthcare and can help prevent the spread of illness in the community. During pregnancy, we offer immunisations against influenza and whooping cough, which will protect baby after birth. We also do baby's first vaccinations in our quiet, separate clinic to reduce exposure while unvaccinated.

- Iron infusions onsite

During pregnancy, iron needs increase to support the growth and development of the baby, and many women develop iron deficiency anemia. Our iron infusions provide a quick and convenient way to replenish iron levels and support overall health, where oral iron supplementation is either unsuccessful or not advised.  - currently very limited availability due to a worldwide shortage of Saline

- Contraceptive insertion & vasectomies

Our GPs insert contraceptive implants (Implanon) and intrauterine contraceptive devices (Mirena, Kyleena, Copper) and Dr Essa Rasool performs scalpel-free vasectomy under local anaesthetic.

- Mental health screening, counselling & referral

Mental health is important for this challenging time of life, and as such, we will assess you at different stages of your pregnancy and postnatal period to ensure you are feeling well. If you are struggling with your mental health, we will discuss your options in regards to referral and counselling.

- Birth plan/preferences preparation

Our midwives provide you with help and support with your preparation for your baby's birth, and provide you the opportunity to organise your birth plan or preferences.

- Postnatal support & care

At Baldivis Maternity Clinic, we understand that the postnatal period can be challenging for new parents. That’s why we offer comprehensive postnatal care. Our team of experienced GP's and midwives will provide you with the support and guidance you need to navigate the early days and weeks of mother and fatherhood, including breastfeeding support, advice on infant care, and help with any concerns or questions you may have.

- Midwife home visits postnatally ( local area )

As part of our postnatal service, our current clients who live in the local area, are able to benefit from Home visits postnatally.

- Breastfeeding support & education with our qualified Lactation Consultant ( IBCLC )

All our midwives can offer breastfeeding advice and support and our qualified Lactation Consultant Zoe is available for breastfeeding assessment, support, and education in both the antenatal and postnatal period.

- Newborn checks & weighs

Our GP's and midwives are available for baby checks and weighs as part of your consultation.

- Tongue-tie assessment and intervention

Our experienced midwives, Lactation Consultant and GP's are able to provide tongue-tie assessment and if intervention is seen as being needed, we have 3 experienced GP's who are able to be booked for this.

- Women's health Physiotherapy

Our Physiotherapist takes pride in providing the best physiotherapy treatment possible, to help our clients overcome long-term pain and functional issues. To facilitate their recovery, she treats the person as a whole, combining hands on techniques, dry needling and tailoring strengthening programs according to their goals.
For over 10 years, she has worked as a Physiotherapist, predominantly in private practice with a strong emphasis on clinical Pilates, sports injuries and women’s health. After treating many patients who were struggling from incontinence or prolapse issues after having children, she obtained a post-graduate qualification in Continence and Pelvic Health.

- Personalized education & support

Our practice midwife Bethany is also available Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday for advice and support with your pregnancy and newborn.
